Analysis for different MBA entrance exams in India

We need to understand the phenomenon of MBA entrance exams that there is no particular syllabus for these exams and these are competitive exams rather than university exams wherein you are tested on a prescribed syllabus.

Hence, it becomes crucial for any MBA aspirant to prepare for entrance exams with an analytical approach. It is important to analyze further and dissect further to create a DNA for getting successful in these exams and in this regard let’s analyze few top entrance exams.

Foremost competitive entrance exam is CAT wherein you are tested for three sections viz. Quantitative aptitude, Data Interpretation along with Logical Reasoning and Reading Comprehension. These three sections of CAT will positively give you a fierce competition in CAT wherein approx. two lac MBA aspirants vie with each other. NCERT books can give you more clarity on the basics of each section particularly for Quant and DILR. CAT is an exam which test you for your Quantitative skills and language skills in a stipulated time as a computer based test. With CAT beyond your in-depth subject knowledge you need to understand the time management along with speed and accuracy because you are not allowed to go back to each section and with negative marking CAT is a tougher exam.

On the other hand in XAT you are also tested in Essay Writing besides the above tests. The Essay Writing test in XAT is highly crucial as you will be getting 20 minutes to write an essay in approximately 200 words. The topic of the Essay in XAT is contemporary in nature and in this regard it would be good if you develop habit reading editorials of top newspapers.

In IIFT exam you are also tested for your understanding on current affairs and analysis because IIFT exam tests you on your sensitivity of surroundings and happenings in India and Globally. Because ultimately you would be studying for International Business.

In CMAT exam besides common sections of Quantitative aptitude, Interpretation, Logical Reasoning you would also be tested for your General knowledge with objective questions and you need to remember dates, names, books etc. to crack CMAT.

In MAT exam the extra test would be on Global warming questions because you are concerned on carbon emissions and energy in the industries hence, as MBA aspirant you are supposed to understand these aspects.
